About the World Trade Center Survivors’ Network

Formed in 2003, the World Trade Center Survivors’ Network (WTCSN) is one of the only organizations founded by and for the survivors of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.  Its membership includes evacuees, neighborhood workers and residents, rescue and recovery personnel, family members, and volunteers at the site.  It also includes survivors of the attack on the Pentagon, and the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.  Members are located in twelve states and Europe.

The main objectives of the Network include:

  • Enabling survivors to successfully deal with the impact of the attacks
  • Empowering them to find renewed purpose in their lives
  • Providing survivor perspectives to the rebuilding of the WTC site
  • Promoting safer work environments, learning from the lessons of September 11th
  • Using our experience to assist survivors of other disasters
  • Ensuring that the historical record accurately reflects the events of September 11th

While we can never bring back those who died, we can bear witness and ensure that the full story of September 11, 2001 is never forgotten.

The WTCSN also functions as a resource for interested parties to obtain survivors’ perspectives, and serves as a conduit for the common thoughts of survivors.  The World Trade Center Survivors' Network is a nonprofit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service, relying upon private donations to cover operational expenses.
